This policy explains what information The Accounting Guide (theaccountingguide.co), run by Greg Gould in Charlotte, North Carolina, collects, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
- Quiz answers. Your answers are used in your browser to work out your recommendation. We don’t ask for your name or email to take the quiz, and we don’t store your answers with anything that identifies you.
- Messages you send us. If you email us or use the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to reply.
- Basic site statistics. Our host, WordPress.com, records standard visit data such as pages viewed, referring sites, and approximate location, so we can see which pages are useful. See the Automattic privacy policy for details.
Cookies and affiliate links
WordPress.com sets cookies needed to run the site and its statistics. When you click an affiliate link, the company you visit may set its own cookie so it knows you came from us. That company’s privacy policy covers what it collects. Read our affiliate disclosure for how affiliate links work here.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it except with the services that run this site, or when the law requires it.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete any personal information we hold about you, such as a message you sent. Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act may give you further rights. Email greg@theaccountingguide.co and we’ll respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is meant for business owners and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
